‘In Your Room’ is the latest slice of darkly cinematic dream pop from Florence Rose. It’s a mesmerising lullaby of a track that places distant acoustic guitar strumming amongst a dreamy, lo-fi soundscape. Rose’s voice is siren-like and ethereal, sounding almost as though it was recorded underwater. On the unique Zak Watson-directed video that accompanies the track, Rose says: “The music video was born through this idea of the track living deep underwater or within the earth. Zak Watson came to me with a reminder of one of my favourite films, Mirror by Andrei Tarkovksy which is a beautiful daydream of a film. We combined our favourite moments from Mirror with my love for haunted, Victorian, abandoned things to create poetic and hypnotic video.” ‘In Your Room’ comes from Florence Rose’s upcoming mini-album, My Lust Is My Religion, which is set to release in the summer of 2024. -Dan Peeke
